Story for Chela
Aga Khan Foundation for Story Moja
If you were asked to start a cause to convince a nation to help children get storybooks, what would you do? What if the nation had an average income of $40 and saw storybooks as a luxury item with no academic or educational value to its children? You let the country drive the campaign, tell their stories for the sake of its children and above all, write its country's name in history as they write the first book written by a nation. This is the story of the story that saved a nation's future.

solution
The world's first book written by a nation. Thousands of Kenyans took to their electronic devices, armed with stories at their fingertips, ready to write a story that would change their children's futures and their country's. Every Kenyan would be able to add to a never-ending story, change characters and scenes, transforming story-writing into a thrilling and exciting adventure. Each word would be equivalent to a donation, with a highly responsive and secure billing system, all initiated by the submit button.
results
With a budget of $8.210.34, we raised over $90,000. Money that built over 30 libraries across Kenya. Local government officials, heads of public schools, parents and children alike rallied behind our cause. We reached over 13.9 million impressions with 97% of the interactions being positive sentiments in less than two months.
